Publisher Description

Convert MKV and WebM to MP4, HEIC to JPG, video to GIF or MP3, PDF to images and images to PDF - on your iPhone, iPad and Mac, with no uploads, no account and no file-size limits.

Converto is a fast, private media converter. Every conversion runs on your device: your files never leave it, and it works offline.

VIDEO

Open MKV, WebM, MP4, MOV and M4V and convert to:
- MP4 1080p - plays everywhere (Apple TV, smart TVs, PCs): H.264, Full HD, HDR converted to SDR
- MP4 720p - smaller files for sharing
- MP4 original quality - repackaged with no re-encoding when possible, in seconds
- MOV, M4V and HEVC (H.265)
- Animated GIF - choose frame rate, width and length
- ProRes on Mac

MKV to MP4 and WebM to MP4 are repackaged on device without re-encoding: H.264, HEVC, VP9 and AV1 video with AAC, AC-3, E-AC-3, MP3 or Opus audio (VP9 and Opus require a recent iOS; VP8 and Vorbis are not supported).

VIDEO TO AUDIO

Extract the soundtrack from any video to MP3, M4A, ALAC, FLAC or WAV. When a film has more than one language, choose which audio track to use - for the converted video too.

SUBTITLES

Extract a video's text subtitles to SRT or VTT, one file per language, from MKV, MP4 and MOV.

IMAGES

Convert JPG, PNG, HEIC, WebP, AVIF, TIFF, GIF, BMP and RAW to JPG, PNG, HEIC, WebP, AVIF, TIFF, GIF, BMP or PDF, with adjustable quality: HEIC to JPG, WebP to PNG, PNG to PDF and more. On Mac you also get JPEG 2000, PSD, TGA, OpenEXR and GPU textures (KTX, KTX2, ASTC).

PDF

- PDF to images: one JPG, PNG or WebP per page, at 72, 150 or 300 dpi
- Images to PDF: one PDF per image, or merge several photos into a single PDF (Pro)

AUDIO

Convert MP3, M4A, AAC, ALAC, FLAC, WAV, AIFF and CAF to MP3, M4A (AAC), ALAC (lossless), FLAC (lossless), AIFF, WAV or CAF. Control bitrate, sample rate and channels.

LIVE PHOTO

Pick a Live Photo and save it as photo + video (JPG + MOV), or turn the clip into a GIF or an MP4.

BATCH (PRO)

Add or drag several files and Converto converts them one after another, with progress for each file. Drag and drop on iPad and Mac.

MORE

- Import from Photos, the Files app, drag and drop or "Open in Converto"
- Preview before converting: duration, resolution, page count
- Keep the original quality with one tap, or fine-tune format, bitrate and resolution
- Manage, preview and share your converted files
- No ads, no watermarks, no tracking, no size limits

FREE AND PRO

Converto gives you 3 free conversions to try it out - any mix of images, audio and video. Converto Pro unlocks unlimited conversions and batch conversion, as a monthly or yearly subscription or a one-time lifetime purchase.

ON MAC

Converto includes a built-in local MCP (Model Context Protocol) server: AI agents like Claude Desktop or Cursor can convert your files through Converto. It runs only on your Mac (loopback, never exposed to the network) and is off until you enable it in Settings.
